UNDER 8 COREC

Practices for the U8 Co-Rec Division will be held 1x per week during the season. The Parent Volunteer Coach decides the practice day and time, and also makes the decision on a practice location in Bexley. Teams will be informed approximately one month before the season begins about the day, time, and location of practices. There will be 6-7 games held on Saturday mornings, and 1-2 on Sunday afternoons. All games will be held at The Fields at Easton. (4475 Sunbury Rd. Columbus, OH 43219).

The purpose of our recreational soccer programs is for players to learn the game and have fun doing it. The curriculum is developmental by design and focuses on individual skills development and on team tactics. The soccer year runs from August 1st through July 31st and is comprised of two season: Fall and Spring. Players may choose to play during either one or both seasons. Each season runs for eight weeks. The Fall Season typically begins the week after Labor Day and runs through the month of October. The Spring Season typically begins the first week in April and runs through the month of May. No games are scheduled for Labor Day or Memorial Day weekends.

Our Micro Soccer program is designed to maximize player development. The Under 8 games consist of  5 players versus 5 players on a 30yd x 35yd field. With so few players on a small field, each child gets numerous touches on the ball and is actively involved in the game. The Laws of the Game are modified to make it simpler and easier for the players to learn the game.  As players get older, they play on progressively larger fields, larger goals, and with more players on the field. Players must have turned 7 years old prior to the start of the soccer year to register in the Under 8 Division.
